Our project is now collecting donations fro two purposes:
- To aid and support the marketing effort of our project, bring the issue to the attention of as many of the Birmingham population as possible, in order to gain the attention of Birmingham City Council and any potential investors or developers who may help us
And
- As our most ambitious plan, to build a new Birmingham-based ice rink ourselves.
While to some this may seem unrealistic, we've based this plan on statistics:
in the winter of 2003 the temporary ice rink in the centre was visited by over 50,000
people - approximately 17,000 a month. If each of these people were to donate
just a small amount, we would be well on the way to our financial goal, let alone
the signatures from all these supporters providing us with Council and business
support.
